Business Procedures
Course Description
During this course students will learn more about the business world and the importance skills that they will need to succeed. This course is a year long class that begins with the basics (job interviewing) and ends with the more advanced problem solving (business plans). The design of this course is for any student who is planning on working after high school. It is not just for those planning on working in an office setting, but for anyone planning on working for or owning their own business. March Assignments
9/1/2009-9/11/2009: Students will complete their Unit 1 with leadership and management skills. Students will create a PowerPoint using teamwork to show how there is always that one person who steps up as the leader. They will also watch a video dealing with teamwork, while filling out a worksheet.
9/14/2009-9/25/2009: Students throughout Unit 2 will learn more about work ethics and business ethical dilemmas. Students will research the history of work ethics, they will better understand the role of ethics and social responsibility in buinesses. Students will watch video clips of work ethics that relate to them.
9/28/2009-10/30/2009: UNit 3 focuses on communication. Students will learn how to create a Professional Portfolio to prepare them for scholarship interviews, college interviews, or real job interviews. Students will also create and present PowerPoints professionally along with create appropriate handouts for their presentations.
