Welcome to Mrs. Jennifer Patterson's Website. This website is to be utilized by all the Business Ed. students and their parents/guardians. Just choose one of the tabs at the top of the screen to access the information for your class. Due to restrictions I am not allowed to post any grades; however, if you would like to know your current grade please fill out the contact information form located at the bottom or e-mail me at pattersonj@calhounschools.org. Hank Humphreys- Mannington Mills
March 4th, 2009: Currently in the Business Procedures Course, students are learning about how to create a Business Plan. The students have interviewd for a particular position within 7 companies and now are learning about their job. Mr. Humphreys from Mannington Mills HR Department came today and spoke with the 7 managers. He discussed with them the responsibilities of being a manager and a leader. He stated that the defintion of a leader is " Influence, nothing more; nothing less." He also talked about in order to be a good leader you must be a good follower. he talked about how Self & Status Quo can hurt or help a great leader. He further recommended some boosk for them to read and gave them handouts about the Rules of Exectuive Class (Peter F. Drucker) and Core Competencies of being a good manager.
Business Procedures' Guest Speaker: AL EDWARDS
January 22nd: We were fortunate enough to have a Calhoun Alumni and Former BOE member come and speak to the Business Procedures' Classes today. Mr. Al Edwards spoke with both classes about the Economic Times that we are experiencing. He also discussed the effects that the economy is having on companies, Calhoun High School, and our community at large. He also spoke on loans, credit scores, credit cards, and more. The students were able to ask questions about Student Loans, how to start their credit, and what effects their credit.
